Sunday will mark the 1-year anniversary of our engagement. In some ways it feels way longer than a year since we got engaged and moved Mike to Michigan, in other ways it feels like it’s been such a short stretch of time. We’ve settled into some routines, I’m loving that the house gets cleaned on a regular basis (home is where the lazy happens, I’m sooo not a chore girl), and I think we both feel more secure in this relationship. There haven’t been any major explosions, we’re both still alive and living together has made us stronger. He pushes me to be a better version of me, and I love having that safety net as well as someone who will hold me accountable while still bringing me a bowl of ice cream and snuggling on the couch.
We’ve still got a long way to go to the wedding day, but as quickly as this year flew by, the next one will too… there’s a ton of plans to get into place and 15 months to get it all done.

I have been itching to get some paper in my hot little hands for a while now. When we made a trip to Chicago a few weeks ago, I deftly snuck in a trip to paper source amidst our free time and picked up some paper to start playing with. I also ordered my roll tickets (so many projects slated for these, but it’s feeling like my very original touch right now, so I’m holding off on sharing until I get further into the planning processes) and a couple of rubber stamps that I’ve been eyeing for a while. Using these, I was able to mock up our STD. Once I priced out the paper source paper for what I ultimately want, it’s erring a little on the expensive side for me, so I have samples of several other papers and envelopes coming from paperandmore.com and envelopemall.com so I can find something comprable for a little less moolah. And, so I can play some more and mock up the invites too! There will be some additional custom things I’ll need to purchase before diving into the full blown paper production process, but I want to settle some decisions early on and this at least allows me to feel like I’m moving forward in some small way.
